THERESA May is expected to end the free movement of EU citizens into Britain, pull out of the single market and end the European Court of Justice rule in the UK in the new Conservative manifesto, according to reports.
It comes after MPs voted by 522 votes to 13 to back May’s calls for a snap General Election on June 8.
A Tory source told the Mail: “All Conservative candidates will have to stand on the manifesto – it will lock them in and provide a much stronger mandate. It will also send a message to the House of Lords that they cannot get in the way.”
The Prime Minister has also left the door ajar on the possibility of ditching several promises made by her predecessor David Cameron – including spending 0.7 per cent of national income on foreign aid.
The former Home Secretary looks set to frame the General Election along the lines of Brexit. Launching her campaign to increase her slim 17 seat working majority, she said: “When people voted to leave the EU they did vote to end free movement as it has been – they voted for us to have control of our laws so we are not subject to the ECJ.
“We will be ensuring we negotiate the best possible deal with the EU – a deal which will cover the various issues that people are really concerned about in terms of ensuring control of our borders, control of our laws, control of our money.”
The Tories are proven manifesto breakers.
Just can’t believe anything they promise or say.
JUNE the Eighth…vote them out.
