Blair comeback? Pro-EU former PM ‘could form new political party’ in bid to WRECK Brexit : Express

FORMER Prime Minister and chief Remoaner Tony Blair could form a new centre-ground anti-Brexit party, according to reports.

The ex-Labour leader repeatedly refused to rule out the possibility of forming a new political force as he announced his controversial return to British politics to thwart the UK’s departure from the European Union.

But the move has led to mixed opinion from allies and top figures from the Labour party.

During an interview marking 20 years since his landslide General Election victory, Mr Blair said he was “not sure I can turn something into a political movement” but added: “I think there is a body of ideas out there people would support.”

Blairite MPs challenged Blair to stand for re-election as an MP or step away from the debate.

An ally told the Sun: “He just can’t help himself — but he’s not part of the solution.

“And that’s the problem. Either come back or don’t.”

But former Shadow Chancellor Chris Leslie said: “It’s important to hear what he has to say.”

  1. I don’t think he has any intention of coming back into politics. Why would he? He’s universally hated, and he doesn’t need the money.

I think Mandelson and Campbell are using their old mucker Blair to cause mischief and derail Corbyn’s election campaign. They would rather Labour lose the election than see Corbyn PM.
