Families in need could be forced to go without unless the public come forward to help fill the shelves at Renfrewshire Foodbank.
An urgent appeal has gone out from Renfrewshire Foodbank for more donations.
The organisation says that it could run out of some items by the end of next week if more supplies are not handed in.
The lack of items is being put down to the huge increase in the number of people using the Paisley facility.
In the year to March, the number of people using the foodbank rose by a massive 1,000 to 7,200.
Foodbank manager Elizabeth Alexander said: “It’s not because people aren’t still donating food that we need more, it’s because there’s been a massive increase in people needing parcels.”
