A CONFIDENT gambler who believes pollsters have got their predictions for the General Election wrong has put a staggering £10,000 on Jeremy Corbyn becoming the next Prime Minister.
The man, in his 20s, dismissed polls that currently put the Tories 16 points ahead of the Labour Party, and placed a three-bet wager that will return £182,000 if it comes off.
The unidentified individual placed £6,000 on Corbyn becoming the next Prime Minister at odds of 12/1, and £3,000 on Labour winning the most seats at 20/1.
Finally, he placed £1,000 on Labour winning an absolute majority, on odds of 40/1.
A spokesman for Betfred told Metro it is the joint-largest gamble backing Corbyn and was made in the man’s home in Norwich on Tuesday.
Betfred said the gambler usually places “novelty bets” on the likes of the X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent, but he appears to have a lot of faith in his political expertise.
