BOOKMAKERS Paddy Power has slashed the odds on a second General Election after early results indicate a hung parliament.
Paddy Power is currently giving 5/4 odds on another vote in 2017 – favourite by a considerable margin, with a 2019 vote in second at odds of 5/2.
Veteran Tory MP Sir Eric Pickles, who stood down this election, told the BBC earlier he believed there would be another General Election this year.
Asked what went wrong this election, Sir Eric said: “We didn’t get enough votes. We lost seats. That’s what went wrong.
“I think that we’ve seen a big increase in the youth vote, I think that Mr Corbyn managed to get the excitement of that.
