Theresa May will attempt to plug cabinet leaks as tensions heighten amid Conservative party division on Brexit.
The Tories were torn apart by a fresh round of bloodletting yesterday – despite pleas by Prime Minister Theresa May for the backstabbing to stop.
Allies of Chancellors Philip Hammond hit back at Brexiteers Michael Gove and Boris Johnson, branding them “dangerous and deranged”.
A Tory minister said: “Boris and Michael Gove have behaved so appallingly in recent days that they should disqualify themselves from high office.
“Everyone knows it’s them behind the briefing against Philip and it’s all to do with Brexit.
“They are so obsessed with a hard Brexit that they are prepared to run the economy off a cliff.
“And they don’t like the fact that Philip is pointing out that we will deservedly lose the next election if we do that. They are dangerous and deranged.”
