Channel Four News aired an astonishing interview tonight in which singer and Lily Allen accused the government and the media of ‘micromanaging’ people’s grieving by massively downplaying the actual death toll.
As of the time of writing, the reported death count in the mainstream media was 17, but Allen says that reports from ‘policeman and firemen’ on the ground have put the real figure at closer to 150.
Allen stated that:
I feel like the government are trying to micromanage people’s grieving here… I’ve never in my entire life seen an event like this, where the death count has been downplayed by the mainstream media. 17? I’m sorry, but I’m hearing from people that the figure is much closer to 150, and that many of those people are children.
Channel Four presenter Jon Snow responded, saying that:
The difficulty is that they have to identify bodies. And there can be very little left in this building.
However, Allen replied:
I appreciate that. But these are families. And when… you identify a body, you report it to the next of kin. There are no next of kin.

Another damning indictment of the Tory way.
Most Tory punters (via the Daily mail. Express etc) will say as a diversion – or out of embarrassment of supporting the Tory way – how many people has Lilly Allen taken into her posh house ?.

Absolutely. It has already started in the Express…

Give an interview or appear (as long as you’re not a Tory) on the television and suddenly you are denounced as a photo opportunist.
Don’t appear (as long as you’re not a Tory) at an interview and you’re denounced as a don’t care bear.
Jeremy Corbyn yesterday got pelters (Daily Mail, Express etc) for attending and talking to surviving residents and appearing on the Tele.
If he didn’t turn up…it would be, typical lefty, only cares for himself etc.

Apparently the BBC were none to pleased with Lily Allen after she made that comment and pulled her from Newsnight at the last minute…

Listening to some of the residents talking, they estimate that the total could even be as high as 400, but the media are downplaying the total, because it would be too horrifying to contemplate if this were so.
The Police have also discredited this figure, based on the official amount of tenants listed by the council. However, there are possibly hidden numbers, due to hidden homeless staying with family, sofa surfers, illegally sublet rooms etc. These are the things that people are forced to do to survive.
The total number may never be known.

The cat is out of the bag…TORIES EXPOSED FOR WHAT THEY ARE.
And it gets worse for the Tories.
I can’t see another Tory instigated election soon.

It’s an interesting read on some of the topics here…

It seems even some die-hard Tories have had enough.
One commenter suggests that May should open up Chequers to the survivors…as if!

Unfortunately, whilst a disaster often brings out the best in some people, it quite often brings out the very worst in others.
